Chan Man Shan never gives up his aesthetic creation despite experiencing brain cancer at a young age which affects the faculties of his limbs and limits his activities to the wheelchair. He started learning painting in SAHK’s Bradbury Tak Tin Workshop since 2004 where he also helped design and illustrate for calendars and bags to be sold at trade fairs organised by the workshop when his skills became more mature.
Man Shan actively participates in various kinds of art activities, including helping design and create a large-scale watercolour painting in the café and canteen in Aberdeen Tennis and Squash Centre with a group of volunteer architects and make the painting into curtains to embellish the walls. He hopes to bring his works to the community and tell people about the talents of people with disability, as well as to encourage them to live a wonderful life as he does.
